Things to do at 3am
An ambient computer game and installation about the joy of being awake while everyone else is asleep.
There’s something about the still of nighttime that makes details stand out, like the way that looking at a black and white photograph draws you to faces. I like it because there’s less distraction and more texture in the shadows, my eyes buzz trying to collect the faint light trickling in my window. Three am is the sweet spot. The perfect time when the night owls are heading home and the early birds have yet to rise. The sidewalk is empty and the crickets are whirring. The city breathes, air conditioners and distant traffic. Everything sinks into the background.
